Title

Request for OpenWrt support / package availability for Eternal Terminal

Body

Hello,

I would like to request support for building and running Eternal Terminal (et) on OpenWrt systems.

OpenWrt is widely used on routers, embedded devices, and mobile networking equipment where connections are often unstable (LTE/5G/Wi-Fi). In such environments, traditional SSH sessions can easily drop, resulting in lost session state.

Eternal Terminal would be extremely useful in this context because it provides:

  • persistent sessions across network interruptions
  • automatic reconnection without losing session state
  • better usability than SSH + tmux in unstable network conditions
  • a lightweight remote shell suitable for embedded devices

Use case

Many OpenWrt devices are used as remote routers, travel routers, and IoT gateways. Having Eternal Terminal available would significantly improve remote administration reliability in these scenarios.

Request

It would be great to see either:

  • official OpenWrt build instructions, or
  • compatibility improvements that make packaging for OpenWrt straightforward (musl / embedded constraints)

Even if full OpenWrt support is not a priority, any guidance on portability for embedded Linux systems would be appreciated.

Thank you for your work on this project.
