HI. I'm new here so go easy!
Gave up a year or so ago to update my maps on Audi A4 2018 (still on original) and now have looked up how to do it again. I only use Android Auto for maps but i need the car maps up to date because of the Traffic Signs. Now it needs the patch but there seems to be no patch for my FW. Embarrassingly with help of google it didn't spot this and took me round in circles.
What I have MIB2 High, MHI2Q_ER_AUG22_P4212 (MU1177)
Have managed to install the MIB installer but couldn't find the patch for FW P4212, google tried to get me to do this manually but it needs the correct patch for the firmware that it should detect automatically and obviously doesn't - so fails, It seems to have done the back up though.
The patch for P4212 is in the list at MIBSolution but its advised NOT to use it! correct me if i am wrong!
MIB helper website tells me the latest FW available is MHI2Q_ER_AUG22_P5152
but google says there is no patch for that either so update to FW to MHI2Q_ER_AUG22_P5092
So I have
Assuming this is all what i need to do? any issues with what i think?
Can you confirm that the engine HAS to running for the FW and MIB toll/patch? I don't think it has to be on for the maps - seems really stupid that there inst a mode you can put the car in in this modern word!!!
Edit if just watch some videos from mr_fix on youtube and to update the FW i need to disconnect the amplifier with ODB11???
I have Carista i use VERY occasionally.
Audi dealer wanted a silly amount for maps update and of course it would not give me lifetime maps or the firmware update.
Thanks
