When I try to mount a volume using the Password Cache, VeraCrypt v1.26.29 just sits at the "Please wait..." dialog box indefinitely. The is definitely a regression in v1.26.29 as I have downgraded back to v1.26.24 where this issue no longer occurs. I also noticed a similar issue #1815 which appears to be somewhat related. Mainly due to the PIM being higher than 31. I can confirm that this is happening with my volumes that have a PIM higher than 31, but not with volumes that don't have a PIM at all. I can also confirm that this is happening with File Container volumes as well as Device based volumes.
Steps to reproduce
- Clean reboot with no volumes mounted and a clean cache.
- Mount first volume using password and PIM and also making sure to tick the "cache password" box.
- Mount the second volume using password and PIM and also making sure to tick the "cache password" box.
- Unmount the second volume.
- Mount the second volume again by clicking on the "Mount" button.
At this point, the "Please wait..." popup box will sit for ~10 minutes before switching to the "Enter Password" dialog box. I'm assuming the 10 minutes must just be some kind of timeout because clearly VC was not attempting to mount the volume for 10 minutes. Especially since it drops into the "Enter Password" dialog screen even though the password is already in the cache.
